Our Team
Jim Slattery
Founder, CEO, and Chief Pilot
Jim began working in aviation in 1984. He started by refueling aircraft at a fixed base operator (FBO) in Albuquerque, NM. In 1985 he moved to Southern California and began working as an aircraft refueler for an FBO at Palomar Airport in Carlsbad, CA. He started taking flying lessons immediately and over the next several years, acquired additional pilot ratings as well as an airframe and powerplant mechanic certificate all of which led to his first professional flying job in 1996 - flying Learjets for a defense contracting company that provided Commercial Air Services to the United States Navy. This entailed flying missions at world-wide locations towing targets for live shipboard weapons training as well as several other types of military support missions. In 2006, Jim began working for an avionics manufacturer conducting flight testing to support product development and certification efforts flying a Cessna Citation II, a Beechcraft King Air 200, and a Cessna 421. In 2019, Jim moved to North Idaho and established Rotor's Edge Unmanned Aerial Services, LLC.
